Great Question!
Advanced beings (AB's), continually seek greater technology. Some AB's consider other AB's primitive because of the level of the technologies that exist! You can imagine how they feel about us.
The big equation that all AB's seek is discovering the variables that will allow them to be immortal and also human! There are beings that have solved this equation and I refer to them as divine beings.
In order for a human being (all beings in the universe began as humans) to become immortal by way of advanced technology (not divine technology), they must alter themselves, physiologically. These physiological changes include synthesizing all of their organs. Any part of their body that requires oxygen must be replaced. It is oxygen that kills us, from the time of our first breath to our last. Oxygen slowly burns us up from the inside.
One thing that all AB's have in common is the shape of their craft. These craft are shaped this way, not as a matter of aerodynamics but because they have discovered that space is divided into geometrical configurations and so their craft fit snuggly into one of these configurations, to within a quantum tolerance or greater depending on the level of their technology.
The natural evolution of man follows a pattern which takes us from primitive, to modern (where we are now), to advanced and then back to primitive once again. However, during the transition from modern to advanced, not all of us de-evolve in to primitive people. There is an elite group of people, the rich and powerful who separate form society into another advanced society and their technological advancement continues to evolve while the rest of society becomes primitive again.
