Earth is a place where everyone gets an opportunity to see themselves for who they truly are. When we come to earth; it is a lot like a group of people who are shipwrecked on a deserted island. Who do we become when society isn't looking? The society we find ourselves in when we are born into earth society, it is not "our" society. In fact we spend a very short time here. Our home is out there-solamenta (the word I use to describe the place we go when we leave the earth)!
The society we came from before we were here is an immortal society and there is no telling how long we were there before we came here. Earth is a place where we are given a chance to see if we are evolving in a positive or negative direction. When we look around at the world we live in, it is not too difficult to see which direction many of us going in. The path to hell must always stay open just as the road to paradise must always stay open. Which way we go, must be a "choice" that "we" make.
Earth is a place where we are not allowed to know much, unless we are prepared to do the work and if we do the work, then we will certainly follow the path toward paradise. Most people, even those that society would call righteous, have not done the work. Don't get me wrong, there are many good people who live on the earth but it takes more to leave the cycle of life and death and live in a truly immortal society, where we will no longer have to come to earth again; when we have developed the character to live in an immortal society that no longer requires the earth experience for those that live within it.
Evolution is a very slow process. Many of us see our modern society as the pentacle of scientific discovery. We can send rocket ships to the moon, we have computers and cell phones and microwave ovens. However, we are a very long way from being a primitive society. We are still very primitive. Even our science is primitive.
All of us come from advanced societies. All of us come from societies that do not die! Our earth experience is one of the best kept secrets of all time and if anyone ever does figure all of this out, then no one will listen to them with the exception of a very few, if even that. So, regardless of how much someone on the earth learns about our true nature, the secret is not in danger of being known by earth society. In this way, the secret of our true nature stays a secret for those who are still seeking enlightenment via the earth experience.
Religion is mans primitive way to explain their existence, and the fact that our society still has these primitive beliefs should be a hint to those who are astute, about where we as a society are, while we walk the path toward enlightenment, which eventually, we all will. All of this can be figured out through logic. There is nothing that cannot be figured out through logic. Surprisingly, very few actually use logic in their assessment of who they are and where they actually come from. However, before we can leave the cycle of life and death on the earth, we must eventually allow ourselves to face our fears and cross this bridge.
