I have never addressed the Nag Hammadi per se but I did speak to the issues of ancient scripture in a series I wrote called the "The Bible Myths" (Parts I thru IX and, posted hereon this site).
Although my writings can be considered allegorical, the conceptual truths are glaring for those who seek to break through the boundaries of the status quo that always seek to hold us back.
Although we all have the vehicle of immortality at our disposal, utilization of it… is an independent action. This is the foundation of free will. It is one thing to hear which way to go from a source that actually knows the way, it is yet another to do what it is telling us to do. Enlightenment requires transition and transition requires action. You don't have to be a mystic to figure this out… it is all very logical. As I look back, I see how difficult it is to break thru the walls of primitive beliefs and see the truth which has always been there, a voice crying in the wilderness.
In a way what you are saying is accurate. All we need to do is to sit still, clear our minds of all wrong thinking and be receptive to the truth. How do we know when we get it? It is logical. Truth always follows a path of logic. As we go thru life, we begin to fill in the missing pieces of the truth equation and when it is all added together, it actually makes a picture that we can easily read and decipher.
Primitive thinking never makes sense; it never follows a path of logic. Primitive logic, the logic of the status quo, always sites the unknowing as the scholars and authors of truth.
Thanks for your question and previous comments! Good luck on your journey…..
