How do you explain an event when a dying person sees someone or something to pick him up so after then he stops breathing while he still about to say something…Is this the detachment of soul or spirit from the body? The dying person is scared.

J.S. Thompson’s Response:

This is not an uncommon event. Often our guides will come for us while we are still conscious or semi-conscious. So the answer to your question is yes. However, I would like to point out that the accepted definition of soul or spirit needs to be clearer. In essence our consciousness and its many different “levels” (or dimensions) is our spirit or our soul. These ancient words describe the hard drive that retains all of the information of our “lives”. Who we are is everything that soul or spirit is. We have a predefined time period we are on the earth and predetermined challenges we are to overcome, if we “choose” to do so. We always have the choice to do so, as it is suggested to us from within or not. We are in a time now where words such as soul and or spirit can be and should be redefined from the previous context of ancient or primitive vernacular as it has been to date.

Good luck in your journey
