When and if we come back is not guaranteed. However, even if we do not come back, there is a way to account and to amend our past errors. Our learning and growth does not stop when we leave the earth. Our transformation should begin now. Make the changes in yourself that need to be made while you are still here.
While we struggle with our own issues here, those who are there, such as your Mother, are struggling with their own deficiencies like learning how to forgive. Do what you can while you are here and this process will continue when you leave the earth.
Those who are out there have the ability to hear our prayers; therefore, your sincere and prayerful contrition will be taken into account. The sincerity of our prayers is measured by the veracity of our actions. The best thing you can do for your Mother is to change the characteristics within yourself which caused you to treat her badly. Look at it this way- if your Mother was still alive here on the earth and you changed to become a good and respectful child, would your Mother forgive you? She never died! She is still there hoping for your salvation!
Thanks for the question and best of luck on your journey,
