This is a difficult question to answer because there are few that want to hear the answer. The core of this question is this: Does God exist, are we truly immortal and if so, is there only one path to find truth? There is not one question that cannot be answered; there is not one question that is not already answered within us. Truth waits for us to hear it.
Most people don't really want to know the truth because the truth scares us. We avoid the truth substituting in its place self-deceit or maybe more plainly understood- a truth of our own making which is not truth at all. This is why we look to the past for wisdom. We seek wisdom in the past, where it is easy to control. However, common sense tells us that the greatest truth is found in the present, just like technology and like technology, understanding should also be logically greater in the present.
Relationship is the foundation of an immortal society and so the person we are in a relationship with would be a person capable of being in an eternal relationship. Think about being with a person for an eternity. An eternal relationship requires that two people have developed the characteristics to do it. This is a tall order for anyone. The only way for a person to be in an eternal relationship is to be able to take direction from the divine source. In other words they can hear and allow themselves to be guided; they have also developed the self-discipline to do what they are told. When we have evolved into these people, we are ready for a true relationship. The entire divine community is involved in each and every eternal relationship.
The divine fraternity is small now, but in time will grow to include all of us in this sector. This is their mission to teach to all what they have explored and discovered in the way that they can do it.
When we are initiated into a divine society, eternal relationship is the next step of our evolution. There is not one person on the earth or out there, that cannot evolve into an eternal mate for any of us. However, eternal relationship is there for those who have become divine and so their eternal mate waits for them and becomes one with them as they are initiated.
It is not so much that God made a person for us; we have evolved as a product of free will but God (logic) establishes the criteria and they are very strict. When we have developed the characteristics to be in an eternal relationship, our mate will be there waiting for us or we for them.
